Our History!

The story of Peña Madridista Atlanta began in 2013 when a Madrileño named Javier De Jesus decided to connect with a group of Madridistas in Atlanta with the goal of watching Real Madrid matches together and potentially creating an official supporters club in the near future. Around the same time, Colombian Majin Hemer Sierra was meeting with another group of Madridistas in the same city with a similar vision.

By coincidence, they discovered each other on Twitter and decided to join forces, uniting their groups to form one larger and stronger supporters club for Real Madrid in Atlanta.

In August of that year, they held their first official meeting at the Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub. During this historic gathering, they laid the foundation for the newly created supporters club by signing the founding documents, bylaws, appointing board members, and establishing a permanent meeting place. Mr. Andrés López, Julio Moreno, and Thomas A. Baker were also present and are recognized as founding members of the Peña.

From its inception, Peña Madridista Atlanta was officially registered as a nonprofit organization under the name Madridistas Atlanta Inc., both in the state of Georgia and under federal U.S. law.

Today, the club boasts 123 members who regularly gather at their official home, Hudson Grille – Little 5 Points, located in Downtown Atlanta, to watch every Real Madrid match. Since the beginning, Peña Madridista Atlanta’s mission has been to unite Madridistas across Atlanta and the metropolitan area to strengthen and celebrate our legendary club together.
